Samrai cemented his name as one of Australia’s hottest festival DJ’s with his phenomenal sets at The Good Vibrations festival, After holding a regular spot on the festival’s line-up for three years, Samrai kept over 150,000 festival goers entertained as the official national “Roots Stage” DJ.His impressive resume boasts spots at other popular festivals and events including Summerfield Dayze, Livid Festival, Motorola Snowboard World Cup and The Quicksilver Pro, highlighting that although passionate about hip hop he can play anything from electro, pop, rock or urban and still captivate the crowd.
Samrai signed with Universal Music in 2003 as one of the DJ’s on the Blazin Mixtape series. The Blazin compilations selling in excess of 300,000 copies. Proving his versatility as a DJ, Samrai was signed to Ministry Of Sound in 2010. His mix CD release “Maximum Bass Overdrive” sold over 50,000 copies.
Samrai has played alongside some of the biggest names in music today, Including Kanye West, Ludacris, Kid Cudi, Kelis, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Damien Marley, Gym Class Heroes,Neyo, Rihanna,Ja Rule,The Black Eyed Peas, Lil Jon, Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, LMFAO, Redman & Method Man, Xzibit, Jurassic 5, Pharaohe Monch, Beatnuts, Gangstarr & Rhazel.
Having won a number of prestigious accolades including the Australian DMC Championships, Stealth National Championships & the ITF Australian Scratch Championships.With all these achievements and more under his belt, it’s obvious to see why DJ Samrai is one of Australia’s favourite DJs.
