Searchl1te drops this 3-track EP that is at once lush and monstrous, diverse and coherent, for heads as well as booties. Comprised mostly of sounds from two synthesizers made out of cigar boxes (one is pictured in the cover art) and field recordings collected in New Mexico and Chicago, Antoine's Cigar Box is premeditated bass music murder.
Antoine Kattar, the cigar box synths’ designer, builder and the EP’s namesake is one of North America’s top Funktion 1 sound system technicians. He’s recently toured with Tipper and annually sets up and tunes the monstrous Nexus sound system at the Burning Man Festival.
Antoine also applies his gift of music and classically-trained skills to bent circuitry… then passes the product over to Searchl1te to gut out.
