The more you share your sounds across the web, the more you are intrigued to know who, where, when and how often your sounds have been played, downloaded and favorited. The first time you will come across the stats of your sounds is the mini-update on the top right of your dashboard.
Before You Start
In the mini-update you will find an overview from all your sounds of plays, favoriting, downloads and profile views. For in-depth analysis of your sounds you can click ‘Your Stats’ within the ‘You’ section of your profile to have access to all this data about your sounds.
Overview
When you first click on ‘your stats’ you will see an overview showing the amount of plays, downloads, comments and favorites of your sounds, very similar to your mini-update on your dashboard. You will also see a percentage breakdown by territory of where your sounds are being heard, as well as being able to view your sounds by popularity. So from here you can click through to individual sounds to see exactly why it has been so popular.
Sound Stats
As you work through your stats you will come across your sounds tab where you will be able to find a more in depth version of comparing sound v. sound to learn more about your sounds. You also have access to a comprehensive breakdown of comparing sound over a certain time period.
People Stats
When viewing sounds using the People tab you can take a detailed look atwhat other SoundClouders are checking out your sounds. Whether it be your friends, users you want to showcase your sounds to or brand new SoundClouders and fans checking out your sounds. Also you will find more detail on a country by country breakdown of plays downloads, favorites and comments.
Sources
As your sounds are shared across the web, being able to have full detail on referral sources can be essential. A label or PR company, for example, may want to know where your sounds are hot on the web or want to know how many times your sound has been played directly from sharing a sound on Facebook. The Sources section will show details of all the sites your players have been embedded on and played from each source.
As well as online sites it can also give you a breakdown of which apps in the SoundCloud ecosystem are streaming your sounds. So if you have connected your sounds to third party apps like Rootmusic the data will come back to one central place in your SoundCloud Stats.
With all of these tabs you can select exactly what data you want to view. One useful tool is the ability to focus on a specific period of time and the activity of your sounds. If you wanted to have a detailed look at your sounds over a certain period of time you can highlight the exact dates you want to search by, as all these stats are stored in the Cloud for when you need them.
