Promotion

SoundCloud is a great way to promote your podcast and easily share it on your own site and social networks. You can use the embeddable players to get your show onto to your site and SoundCloud’s “Share” functionality can help you push the pod onto facebook, twitter and more. Your listeners can plug the shows easily too! Take a look at how the customised embeddable player looks on Playback Media's site for example:

Commenting and Engaging your Listeners!

The commenting feature is a great way to engage your listeners - leave notes and post links to things you were discussing and continue the conversation! Take a look at Create Digital Music's first podcast, the timed commenting allowed their users to add their "two cents":

Listener Information

And then there's the stats. With premium accounts you can get details on plays, locations, downloads, favorites, where is has the player been embedded, what apps is the show being used in and more! All useful info if you want to take your podcast to the next level with advertising or partnerships.

Leeds Metropolitan University use SoundCloud really effectively for reporting the latest sports news. Getting the audio content onto their own site, facebook and twitter simply was the key.
