SoundCloud for Meetup Organizers
Organize your local SoundCloud Community by setting up a meetup to bring together SoundClouders in your area.
Before You Start
First you need to check whether there is anything going on near you.
Click on your city to find out whether there are any events going on and If you're interested, hit the big red 'Count me in' button (you’ll be asked to log in to meetup.com by creating a new account or by using Facebook connect.) If there's no events going on in your city, you can easily create one. Type it into the suggestion field at the top. Pick a date, venue and write in some information on it and you're ready to go!
Spread the word!
When users show interest in a meetup, get them talking by posting comments on the events page, here you can co-ordinate where and when to meet. Each meetup needs an organiser, editing event information will set your status as an organizer (but don’t worry, that just means you’ve helped out!). But, if you do, get in touch with us and we can send you some swag and help you promote it.
You can also set up a Facebook event to promote your meetup, but remember to RSVP on meetup.com so we’ve got a way of seeing who's attending around the world!
Confirm It!
Once an organiser, venue, and time are agreed upon, tag your tweets with #scmeetup to help spread the world. Also, why not create a Soundcloud group for attendees to submit their sounds too?
After your meetup, if you have any photos, videos or sounds you want to share, upload them with the tag ‘scmeetup’. (if you have a city set in your profile this will tag your sounds to our SoundCloud Meetup Map)
