SoundCloud for Audio Pushing to Social Networks

Audio blog, audio messaging, audio pushing, audio microcasting. Whatever you want to call it, SoundCloud is an ideal way to push out a quick audio message to the web.

Before You Start

The following is a guide on how to get set up and what to do. First you’ll need to download the app and sign up for an account. The app is free and you can find the iPhone version in the iTunes app store and the Android app is available on the Android Market Place:

How to: Overview

1. Select “Sign Up”
2. Enter your email, password and confirm the terms and conditions
3. Done - then click Sign up and Connect!

Now it’s time to record.
1. Select the record option from the menu bar
2. Press record
3. Do your thang and then click on stop and then save (press play to review, or cancel to start again).


Now you can label it and push it to your social networks, first you’ll need to configure. For example this is how to connect with Twitter:
1. Select “Configure” beside the Twitter option
2. It will then ask you to connect SoundCloud with Twitter
3. Enter your Twitter login details and select “Allow”

If you want to push the audio to any other social networks (Foursquare, Facebook or Myspace), simply make sure they are also configured and then select them as “ON”.


Now its time to give it a name, location and a photo.
1. Simply type in the name, to add a photo you can either select one from your library or take one there and then.
2. Selecting “Where” will automatically locate you so you can select from the the list.
3. Then select upload and share and your audio will be in the cloud!

Here’s how it looks on Twitter and Facebook:
Done! If you want to check your sounds or make comments, rotate your phone and tap on the time line. Select the “i” icon on the top right to get your latest stats. If you want even more stats, visit SoundCloud on the web!
