STERAC aka Steve Rachmad has reached back to the first album 100% Pure ever released in 1995 - the classic milestone in the history of Detroit Techno 'Secret Life of Machines' and has given it a whole new lease of musical life with the remastered & remixed album out today on vinyl, digital and CD.
17 years ago, in a make shift studio at his parent's house, Steve Rachmad crafted his first album Secret Life of Machines under the moniker STERAC, using his music machines (Roland TR-808, R-8m, U-20, Juno 106, JX 8p, Yamaha TX-81z and FB-01).
Released on 100% Pure in the same year that the Internet went mainstream, everyone was blown away by the fresh thrilling sounds and Detroit Techno futuristic flavours. It was a defining moment for Steve's career and received massive support from the DJ likes of Darren Emmerson, Mark Broom, Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier....
The timelessness and delicious smoothness of Secret Life of Machines forged a path immediately in the Techno landscape - a path that now Sterac aka Steve Rachmad and 100% Pure have chosen to revisit.
Steve Rachmad, now hailed as the European father of Detroit Techno, has recreated a selection of the original tracks using the very same machines as he had back then, then created four new remixes and four bonus digital tracks.
All 15 remastered & remixed tracks are available as a digital exclusive on Beatport today, complementing today's release of the album on vinyl and CD.
In August, following the release of this album, there will be a rollout of remixes from Ricardo Villalobos, Joris Voorn, 2000 and One, Heiko Laux, Joel Mull, Christian Smith, Marc Romboy, Samuel L Session, Vince Watson, Klartraum and Nadja Lind.
